i was young
i was young
then one day my youth was sold
don’t know what changed
maybe it was just something that i was told
at times i tried to find happiness like when i was ten years old
i couldn’t find it so i ran away and joined the town freak show
everyone’s cheering me on
they knew all along
they knew all along
i was brave
i was brave
then one day my fears they grew
don’t know what changed
maybe i learned things i wish i never knew
at times i tried to think of myself before i turned cold and blue
the curtains rising they’re watching me like i’m in a human zoo
everyone’s cheering me on
they knew all along
they knew all along
woo!

I picked Brown Study purely for the Jens Lekman vibes. However, this entire album just gets more comfortable with every listen. This might be a niche take, but to me it's as if singer/songwriter Jens Lekman turned his hand to dream pop and trip hop while taking the rhythmic vibes of Cigarettes After Sex and dialing them up to "waking up in the morning after sex" tempo. It's a sonic trip is all I can say. riotgrrrl_meg
A truly stunning album that mentally transports you to foggy early morning streets, the pavement wet from recent rains. Dreary, but in a comforting way. Like sitting next to a window during a rainstorm, listening to the drops hit the glass while remaining warm. Never fails to make me feel safe. Crow Yo
