mama my brain
my brain is not my own
my heart it feels like ice
that’s turning into stone
and my breathing’s getting short
blame it on the sickness
mama i tried
i tried so very hard
i’m just an empty box
cause i’ve played every card
and my vision’s turning grey
blame it on the sickness
my god it’s getting vicious
and no one can look away
but they forget the quickest
when i ask how to fix this
self-inflicted foul play
blame it on the sickness

I picked Brown Study purely for the Jens Lekman vibes. However, this entire album just gets more comfortable with every listen. This might be a niche take, but to me it's as if singer/songwriter Jens Lekman turned his hand to dream pop and trip hop while taking the rhythmic vibes of Cigarettes After Sex and dialing them up to "waking up in the morning after sex" tempo. It's a sonic trip is all I can say. riotgrrrl_meg
